Né en 1974 à Devon, James Brooks vit et travaille à Londres.
Titulaire d’un MA of fine Arts du Chelsea College of Art, il a reçu la bourse du Arts Council en 2006 et figure notamment dans les collections du Städel Museum de Francfort comme celles de David Roberts et de Frédéric de Goldschmidt.
